  • Why have you done a search on my details?

NAFN Data and Intelligence Services is a national organisation hosted by Tameside MBC providing services on behalf of member local authorities, wider public authorities and housing associations across the UK.  One of the services offered to our members is access to centralised credit reference data services.  It may be for a new tenancy, employment, debt recovery, rent arrears and prevention of fraud and crime.

  • If NAFN did the credit search, why does it show Tameside MBC?

NAFN Data and Intelligence Services is hosted by Tameside Metropolitan Borough Council.  If any member organisation conducts a credit search using our service, the result will always show the search was conducted by Tameside MBC.  Any data returned by the credit reference service is communicated directly to the requesting authority.

  • What is NAFN’s connection to Tameside MBC?

Tameside Metropolitan Borough Council hosts NAFN Data and Intelligence Services.  NAFN is a non-incorporated body and therefore must be hosted by a local authority in order to operate; at present this is Tameside MBC.

  • How do I get my details removed from the NR3?

NAFN hosts the NR3; however all subjects searched, uploaded and deleted are controlled by the respective licensing authorities.  In order to have your details removed, you must contact the relevant licensing authority so they may consider your request.  If the decision is made to remove your details they will instruct NAFN to delete the record immediately.
