  • What is NAFN Data and Intelligence Services?

NAFN Data and Intelligence Services is a public sector, not for profit organisation.  Our members are public sector, local authorities, wider public authorities and housing associations.  We exist to support our members to protect the public interest, tackling fraud, crime, corruption and error.

  • Why have you done a search on my details?

NAFN Data and Intelligence Services is a national organisation hosted by Tameside MBC providing services on behalf of member local authorities, wider public authorities and housing associations across the UK.  One of the services offered to our members is access to centralised credit reference data services.  It may be for a new tenancy, employment, debt recovery, rent arrears and prevention of fraud and crime.

  • If NAFN did the credit search, why does it show Tameside MBC?

NAFN Data and Intelligence Services is hosted by Tameside Metropolitan Borough Council.  If any member organisation conducts a credit search using our service, the result will always show the search was conducted by Tameside MBC.  Any data returned by the credit reference service is communicated directly to the requesting authority.

  • What is the link to Tameside MBC?

Tameside Metropolitan Borough Council hosts NAFN Data and Intelligence Services.  NAFN is a non-incorporated body and therefore must be hosted by a local authority in order to operate; at present this is Tameside MBC.
